Overview and Primary Purpose
VioletAudio IO44 is a compact 4-channel passive audio adapter designed to bi-directionally link any combination of four 3-pin XLR audio lines over a single Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable.
The adapter eliminates heavy multi-core snakes by transmitting microphone, instrument, and line-level signals across standard balanced twisted-pair network runs.
Key Features and Technical Advantages
- Bi-Directional 4-Channel Routing: transmits 4 analog XLR channels over one shielded Cat5e or Cat6 network cable.
- Pure Path Passive Operation: transparent audio transport requiring no external power supply.
- Rugged Locking Connectors: 4 front locking XLR inputs/outputs and 1 rear etherCON RJ45 socket conforming to the AES72-20 standard.
- Modular Compatibility: pairs with a second IO44 adapter or connects directly to VioletAudio DX08B and DX16B stage splitters.
- Compact Metal Chassis: engineered for portable stage drops, wall cavity routing, and mobile production setups.
Applications
With its lightweight footprint and AES72-20 connectivity, the VioletAudio IO44 is tailored for temporary stage runs, wall cavities in venues, portable studios, and corporate installations.
