Updated ChamSys QuickQ+ Lineup: What’s New in the "+" Generation

British manufacturer ChamSys has officially launched the updated QuickQ+ lighting control console series. This is far from a minor facelift — the new models feature a complete overhaul of the internal hardware, network architecture, and expanded universe capacity.

Key Engineering Upgrades of QuickQ+ vs. Base Series:

1. 11.6″ Display (Upgraded from 9.7″)
All consoles now feature a larger 11.6″ Full HD multi-touch display, offering significantly more screen real estate for color pickers, fixture grids, and cue execution.

2. Dual Independent RJ45 Network Ports
Lighting protocol streams (Art-Net / sACN) and remote control traffic (Wi-Fi, control apps, internet) are now physically isolated across two separate network interfaces.

3. Expanded Universes & Direct DMX Outputs:
• QuickQ 20+ now outputs 4 universes (upgraded from 2).
• QuickQ 30+ upgraded to 6 universes (upgraded from 4) and 4 direct 5-Pin XLR DMX outputs (upgraded from 3).
• QuickQ Rack+ expanded to 6 universes.
• All physical DMX ports now support RDM Autopatch for automated fixture discovery and patching.

4. All-New Model — QuickQ Studio+
Engineered specifically for broadcast studios, houses of worship, and fixed installations, this new hybrid console features reversible rack ears allowing it to operate as a desktop console or mount directly into a standard 19″ 8U rack space. It features an 11.6″ touchscreen, 10 master faders, 4 universes, and 4 dedicated 10Scene ports.
